Development aid

Most rich countries spend less than 0.7 percent
of their income on development aid.

Many of them spend much more money
on weapons and on destruction.
Is it because it is more directly profitable?

If you had a rich neighbour
and you were poor and had nothing,
would you not be desperate?

Why do so many people from developing countries
have to lose their lives drowning at the front door
of the rich countries that give so little?

Why do rich countries not help more
to make poor countries developed as well?

Why do they not help the whole poor population more
and not just the elite that warrants them access
to raw materials and natural resources?

"Just give them a little and they will be satisfied"
is the wrong attitude and totally unfair.

Development aid should be a fair partnership.
The poor countries should be equal beneficiaries.
Fairness requires respect for all parties concerned.
Not just a few but everyone should benefit.
