Like a father

I would want to be like a father.
A father to everybody.
I would listen to what worries them.
I would listen to what troubles them.
I would share their happiness.
I would comfort them in their sadness.

Many people feel unhappy.
Many people feel confused.
They do not know what to expect of life.
They often expect too much or
things that do not really matter.

Life is not always easy
and making choices is hard.
The media switch from one role mode
to another depending on the income
and number of viewers they generate.
TV has come to be like a baby-sitter.
But often with the wrong values and
interested not really in educating
but in helping to sell stuff
people do not need.

I would want to be like a father.
Interested in helping his children
to grow up in a world they understand.
In a world where they see what is important
and where they are strong enough
to resist the - hidden - manipulation by
false and over-commercial baby-sitters.

Most of all, I would like fathers
to understand they do not need
all the stuff presented them by the media.
Then they would have more time
to spend with their children.
