My wish

Many people wish they were rich.
Many people wish they were a star.

Yet, the happiest moments in life
have seldom anything to do with riches or stardom.

Like being born in a caring family,
even if of moderate means,
where you feel welcome and appreciated.

Like having friends that are true to you
even if you have hardly any money.
Friends that like your company
just because of what you are
and not because of what you have.

Like sharing happiness and sorrow with a partner
in a relationship built on love and not on possessions.

Like walking around in Nature and
feeling part of her with all of your senses.

Indeed, the happiest moments in life
do not need to be complicated or money-related.
It is sad to see most of the media and marketing
make people believe they need to be rich or a star
to be happy or to be someone in life.

I wish people see that true happiness is built
on friendship and love and not on materialism.
