Needs

Your needs depend on where you were born.
In the West, people generally have more needs.
They are made to believe they need
to have new things and yet new things again.
They are made to believe old things need to be replaced.
Even old age is often seen as a kind of disease.

What people need most, they often do not have.
They need to feel loved and cared for.

In the West, children are generally spoiled.
They have a hundred or more toys to choose from.
And yet get bored after five minutes of play.
They have a hundred different brands to choose from.
And yet are unhappy when mum buys the wrong one.

What children need most, they often do not have.
They need to feel loved and cared for.

People living in poverty have but a few needs.
Very often they even cannot cover basic needs.

Is it not sad that so few people in the West
are prepared to give up a few superfluous needs
to help people in poverty to meet basic needs?

What people need most, they often do not give.
They need to give love and to care about others.
The more they give, the more they get.
