Before I leave

Before I leave this world,
I would like to try and make it better.
Especially for the children.

This world is too complicated.
There is too much violence.
There is too little warmth.

Money seems to drive everything.
Everything has its value expressed in money.
Even love and friendship are often
measured with money in mind.

Is civilization really that civilized
when thousands of people are killed or maimed
just to have more power or more money?

Before I leave this world,
I would like money to be relegated
to the position it deserves.
Not the driving force but just
an instrument at most.

Materialism needs to be reduced.
So that people can have more time and freedom
to spend with family and friends.
So that they can really experience
what Man was meant to be.

Not an instrument of money
but the expression of peace and love.
