Mahaivi Peace Declaration

In the light of the brutal violence in many countries - often related to religious beliefs and fanaticism, religious leaders of any religion in any country in the world are requested to unite and to send out a strong sign to this world condemning all types of violence.

They are requested to accept and promote the following declaration of religious peace (it can be adapted).

Mahaivi Peace Declaration :

• God can have many names
• Religions are different ways to worship God
• God stands for peace
• To reach God one must reach peace
• To reach peace one must reach humanity
• To reach humanity one must try and respect human values to the maximum
• Peace for Mankind is peace for God
• Violence of any kind is inconsistent with peace and thus with God
• Killing in the name of God is against peace and thus against God
• Religions categorically condemn any kind of violence
• Religions unite to promote peace and humanity.

We hope many religious leaders will openly state that they accept this declaration of religious peace.

We invite the press to report about the declaration and the reaction of religious leaders.

We invite the public in general to ask their leaders to accept and promote the declaration.
